Love|Lust

Say what you see .. “There is a fine line between Love and lust”…

Contrary to what my tumblr name suggest the big L is not a word I just throw about and exchange like oxygen for carbon dioxide.. The reasons being:

  • it is easy to THINK you’re in love whilst not being in it
  • It is easy to be in (a state that resembles) love when you should NOT be
  • It is easy to mistake Love for Lust
  • Thinking your in Love can be a dangerous mindset

e.t.c… x2 but the basic idea im trying to encompass here is that Love is Not as simple nor as complex as people think it is.

Infatuation = Loves impostor
BE WARY: Infatuation has disguised itself as love and gotten away with it many times.

You may be very interested in someone, have a very passionate relationship; always thinking about them, missing them, can’t keep your hands off them when they’re around, Love Infatuation is like a drug which literally has physiological effects.. increased heart rate, addiction, euphoria so in the absence of the subject of infatuation, one finds it as harder to achieve enjoyment/pleasure, (NB: this is extremely similar to the effects of cocaine) as invigorating as this all sounds these feelings are extremely common whereas love is a lot rarer.. Love is in fact what is left when all this chemistry exits stage right but you still want to be with that person. After all the fireworks, everything is quiet yet you’re not bored you’re quite happy to just stare at the sky. I’m not even implying that love is boring, I’m not suggesting that I’ve been in love and know all about it, but I recognise the look and it’s not a “I can’t wait to rip your clothes off”-look it’s more of a “I want to make you happy at any cost because you mean more to me than anything”-look.

Now we’re all only human (¬_¬ a phrase that i will cover in detail in a blogpost coming soon) … and are entitled to make mistakes HOWEVER it can’t be called love if both parties rnt puttin in maximum effort…

Im not usually a bible quoter but a lot of you probably know 1 Corinthians 13 has some powerful words on love:

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  8 Love never fails…

To Me:

  • Love is not a matter of the mind nor the heart but the SOUL
  • Love is mutual
  • Love is only real when its healthy for you

There are many feelings that look like love, dress like love, sound like love but in actually fact they are not as genuine or as authenic and unfortunately its extremely difficult distinguish between them.

And believe it or not its only just after i finished writting this that i realised valentine’s day is around the corner lol (this calls for another blogpost!! hehee)

According to the great Ella Fitzgerald: “I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt; it was because of her that I played the Mocambo, a very popular nightclub in the ’50s. She personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him - and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status - that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. After that, I never had to play a small jazz club again. She was an unusual woman - a little ahead of her time. And she didn’t know it.” This is one of the MANY reasons WHY i LOVE her!!

Witness the Fitness Pt. 2: Getting Started…

(Witness the Fitness Pt.1)

I recently asked what i shud blog about “bodywise” and i got a mixed response so im goin to do a brief overview with some general tips and my fitness regime…!! =)

As a nation the majority of the population of Britain, including me, are a bunch of lazy couch potatoes! if yur nt good for yu, yu wont hav a problem .. but for those of us who don’t have the motivation, energy or time to keep fit here are REALISTIC goals that can definetely put yu on the path to getting where yu want to bodywise.

  • Research/Plan - wat is it you want? how can you achieve it .. you can pass by a gym and ask about exercises for particular areas or there’s even a number of youtube videos on fitness but make sure you get the right, EFFECTIVE, exercises for you.
  • Wake up!! you can’t say you have no time to exercise you can way up 30mins earlier jump out of bed and hop to it!!
  • 20-30mins of planned exercise a day won’t hurt at all!! if its your abs/belly your working on you can alternate between 4x25sets of crunches, sit ups and leg lifts.
  • Try some yoga!! Or another type of  activity thats a bit more fun so that you’ll be more interested in exercising (il go into more detail on yoga another time =] )  
  • Its nt all about dieting its the balance.. in theory yu can eat as much as yu want as long as yu do the exercise to work it off!
  • Walking - instead of catching the bus or driving just leave 30mins early and walk with purpose and pace.. kept me fit all last yr =)

Now lets face it we dnt all want the same body some of us want to be slimmer some of us want to be thicker some want to be taller some shorter (unfortunately the latter cannot really be changed [to my knowledge])  but if we are realistic and make it a lifestyle rather than a get fit quick scheme we’ll get to wher we want to be BODYWISE!
